Executive Management

Fidal is a SELAS (société d’exercice libéral par actions simplifiées).

The firm is managed by François de Laâge de Meux, Chairman of the Executive Committee, Christophe Mikolajczak, Managing Director, and Jean-Godefroy Desmazières, Deputy Managing Director.

The Executive Committee is elected by a Supervisory Board for a renewable four-year term. The Supervisory Board, responsible for supervising the Executive Committee’s management, is elected every four years by the general meeting of partners. Joël Frey is Chairman of the Supervisory Board

  • Carole Chatelain, Executive Director of Human Resources, supports management.

  • The regional directors, with the support of office directors, are responsible for the operational and strategic management of our teams across the firm’s 12 regional divisions.

  • Our national KM directors are responsible for developing the firm’s technical guidance, providing the lawyers with continuous training, and designing innovative solutions in anticipation of our clients’ needs. The firm’s department directors serve as their relay points in the regions.

This original governance structure encourages broad-based consultation between the partners, while ensuring that the Executive Committee has the necessary autonomy to exercise its management power.

Fidal’s share capital is held exclusively by lawyers working in the firm. At present, 40% of our shareholders are women. We have one of the most open shareholding policies in the profession, with more than one third of our lawyers holding equity and all of them being eventually invited to do so.

Gender equality (leadership and senior management): in 2022, 33% of the members of senior management are women and 67% are men.

Knowledge Management Department

Unique in the market, our KM department brings together lawyers – both practitioners and academics, at the head office and in the regions – to support the firm’s technical excellence, innovation and client development.
